On December 1st 2009, Independent Fisheries Ltd celebrated their 50th Anniversary.
Over 800 invited guests, including all available IFL staff, attended the Anniversary Luncheon held at the Woolston, Christchurch site. It was a fantastic function with overseas visitors from 20 countries joining industry colleagues and friends from New Zealand.
The gathering were treated to guest speakers who in turn gave their recollections of the past 50 years of trading since the late Howard Shadbolt, registered the Company on 1st December 1959 with the Companies office in Christchurch.
A book titled “ INDEPENDENT BY NAME INDEPENDENT BY NATURE” was produced to mark the occasion.
